Bio

Location: 1654 1st St N, Winter Haven, FL

Established: 2017

Amonie Jo's is named after the sisters' mother, Amonie Joseph, who emigrated from the Bahamas in search of establishing the family's future in the United States. Amonie Jo was a driven entrepreneur who established a stable framework for the family during their initial years in the US. Unfortunately, after multiple bouts with cancer, Amonie Jo passed away in 2017. The sisters found inspiration through their mother's passion and decided to start a business just months later. Borne out of the fortutious connection of long-standing family traditions and a "For Sale" sign on a Ford E350 - Amonie Jo's coffee bus was established and began serving the Winter Haven area. The venture has now shifted focus to a brick-and-mortar location, but don't be surprised if you see the mobile coffee bus rolling out again in the future!

Offering

The sisters take pride in delivering clean, organic, responsibly-sourced coffee to their customers. They are serving up espresso-based drinks, a delicious homemade cold brew, and drip coffee as a standard. They also offer a diverse tea menu. You can pick up a matcha tea latte, homemade iced teas, and their specialty - the chai tea latte. The drink is prepared per their grandmother's traditional chai tea recipe, the exact same way they enjoyed the drink while growing up. The drink is naturally sweet, and the taste is amplified by a dusting of cinnamon that balances the profile.

The Centerpiece: San Marino Three Group Lisa R

The Old Workhorse: Ford E350 Bus

Amonie Jo's relies on a San Marino Lisa R to keep the shop running each day. The three group head machine was produced by the largest espresso machine manufacturer in the world, Astoria CMA Group. The Italian-origin company has been producing machines since 1969. A unique part of Amonie Jo's history - and the second notable piece of hardware - is their converted Ford E350 bus. The bus was the focal point of their operations when their coffee journey began back in 2017. The E350 is completely renovated and includes a couch, small breakfast table, internal bar, and service window. The bus a fully-functioning mobile coffee shop designed to keep Amonie Jo's in the middle of the action at local markets and events.
