Blessed Cup has been established with a goal beyond just serving up awesome coffee. Owner David Schaefer is on a journey to create a hub in Clearwater rooted in family, friendship, and faith. You'll find wonderful customer service here - David brings his warm and welcoming personality to every aspect of the operation. The shop is centered around providing a communal atmosphere for people to gather and engage with each other over great coffee and great food, all while just a stone's throw from one of the most desirable beaches in the world. Blessed Cup regularly organizes live music events, trivia nights, and even hosts yoga classes. This place is built around their mantra: Coffee - Community - Connecting. Whether you're local to the area or just dropping in to Clearwater on vacation, be sure to stop in and spend some time at Blessed Cup.

Offering

The shop serves up the standard line of great espresso-based classics. The bean blends (see The Crop below) produce balanced flavor profiles, offering a smooth cup that will be appreciated by specialty coffee drinkers and everyday drinkers alike. Their house-made cold brew is perfect for a hot day at the beach, and their nitro cold brew is equally refreshing. You'll want to chug it down fast, but be careful - Blessed Cup's recipe delivers quite the caffeine punch! They have an extensive selection of teas to choose from as well. You can also grab something cold and refreshing from the extensive smoothie and frappe menu. They have a wide range of flavors ranging from light, fruity, and tropical to dark, chocolatety, and indulgent. Blessed Cup also serves up breakfast, lunch, and late items on the food menu. Pick from belgian waffles (yes, real ones), breakfast sandwiches, or avacado toast in the AM. Drop in for a salad, pulled pork sandwich or one of their unique grilled waffle sandwiches for lunch or dinner.

Hardware

The Centerpieces: Wega Three-Group Polaris & Voga Coffee Ground Control

Blessed Cup has some unique equipment acting as the backbone to their operations. The espresso machine is a Wega Polaris with three group heads, custom-finished in blue to match the decor of the shop. It provides a clean, consistent shot for the staple espresso drinks on the menu. The batch-brew menu items are brewed through a Voga Coffee Ground Control machine. Grinds are loaded in a basket at the bottom of the machine, and a stirring mechanism agitates the grinds as water is added. Vacuum pressure extracts the brewed coffee from the mixture and pumps it upward through the machine. The coffee is then discharged into a bulb above the machine, swirling and aerating as it drains down toward the dispensing pot. The chemisty process is mesmerizing to watch! The Voga machine offers unique control over the pressure, timing, and speed of the extraction. It produces pour-over quality coffee in volumes. The vaccum process also improves extraction efficiency by 20% over traditional drip brews, meaning more brewed coffee with less wasted grinds. There aren't many of these around the area, so go check it out!

Sourcing Style: Reponsibly-Sourced, Uniquely Blended and Locally Roasted Single Origins

Blessed Cup partners up with a very experienced local roaster to create tailor-made blends specifically for the shop. They offer a range of flavor profiles including Lazarus - a blend of dark & medium, The Word - and Italian-style espresso roast, Glory - a South & Central American blend, and Jamaican Me Crazy - you guessed it, a tasty Jamaican origin. If you enjoy your coffee at Blessed Cup, head to the retail shelf and grab a bag for home.
