For the better part of a decade, Coffee Shop of Horrors has been taking a unique approach to coffee. What started in tradeshows and online sales of flavored coffee quickly moved into a Brick-and-Mortar location in Montverde. Owner Nick Sindicich combines the themes of Horror and Sci-Fi with coffee shop vibes, creating a one-of-a-kind experience for us. His attention to detail comes to light in everything within the shop - from the quality of the flavored coffee recipes, to the local artistry carefully crafted and hand-selected for each retail bag. Coffee Shop of Horrors is built on a long line of talents, passions, and friendships, and the result is something wonderful and incomparable to any other shop around. Offering

Coffee Shop of Horrors' claim to fame is the vast offering of specialty-roasted, high grade, fair trade coffees flavored with over 50 different recipes. The retail shelves are stacked with these options, all available for you to bring home and incorporate into your daily routine. The flavor profiles vary greatly - from bourbon, to peanut butter, to butterscotch - you'll be able to find something fitting for your palate. At the counter, the shop selects two coffees to batch brew daily (one flavored, one standard) and prepares a range of espresso-based drinks as well. You'll also find a selection of teas and freshly made baked goods, croissants, and sandwiches. In the Tavares location, you'll find a couple of additional items - multiple nitro cold brews on-tap and a broad food menu that incorporates a variety of hot sandwiches and burgers.

Hardware

The Centerpiece: Grindmaster/Cecilware Venezia II Two-Group ESP2-220V

You'll find a Venezia Two-Group espresso machine pulling the shots at Coffee Shop of Horrors. The machines have a long legacy, and are now part of the Cecilware product line. The daily drip coffee servings are prepared using batch brewers. We think some of the most noticable hardware in the shop is the selection of Horror and Sci-Fi memorabilia woven throughout the aesthetic. There are definitely some unique finds - be sure to poke around while your coffee is being prepared!

The Crop

Sourcing Style: Fair Trade, Organic

Coffee Shop of Horrors mainly uses a Colombian bean base for their flavored coffees. For years now, they have built a partnership with a roaster that can cater to their unique flavored and unflavored bean needs. The roaster takes Nick's beans through a medium roast profile, then carefully adds a predetermined, pretested mix of natural oils and spices (no sugars!) to the batch. The roaster agitates the beans following the roast as they cool, mixing the oils and spices evenly and allowing the flavors to absorb into the beans. Once cooled, the beans are packaged up and delivered fresh to Coffee Shop of Horrors. If you're having an espresso-based drink, that will be served up using their housemade espresso blend.
