Location (Daytona Beach): 230 Daytona Blvd, Unit G620, Daytona Beach, FL
Location (Port Orange): 5521 S Williamson Blvd, Unit 420, Port Orange, FL
Established: 2017
Owner Nick West has been on a coffee adventure for a while now. Walking into Copperline's location inside the Daytona One complex in the shadows of the grandstand at Daytona International Speedway, you'd find it
hard to believe that the roots trace back to a humble beginning inside the Cassadaga Hotel in Cassadaga, FL. Shortly after moving to Florida from Knoxville, Tennessee, Nick began exploring his passion for coffee.
While working at the Cassadaga Hotel, he started brewing up coffee as a one-man operation inside the establishment. The passion and motivation to open his own coffee shop grew from there. After years of focus,
persistence, and saving, Nick opened Copperline's doors in Port Orange in 2017. As a testament to early success, Copperline's second location (Daytona Beach) opened less than two years later. Today, both locations
are firing on all cylinders to provide the local community and visitors to the area with the best coffee around.
Offering
Copperline offers up pour overs, espresso-based drinks, a seasonal specialty coffee menu, cold brew, and teas. If you enjoy a flavor shot in your coffee, you'll find a selection of house-made syrups to choose from. Each
coffee on the menu is carefully selected from the local roasting partners (more on that below). The tea options are locally sourced from
Cultivate Tea & Spice Co. based in St. Augustine. In addition to the drink menu, the Port Orange café location has a full
food offering and supplies house-made baked goods daily to both Copperline locations. Before you head out, hit the awesome retail shelf where you can pick up logo apparel or grab a bag of the great coffee for home.
Hardware
The Centerpiece: Nuova Simonelli Two-Group Appia II
Both Copperline locations use a Nuova Simonelli Appia II to pull shots for the bar. The machines are extremely reliable and widely used in coffee shop across the world. Nuova Simonelli's roots trace back to
1936 in the very small town of Cessapalombo, Italy where their first machine was created by founder Orlando Simonelli. They have expanded immensely over the decades, perfecting their designs of precision espresso
machines. Today, they are a global company with a US-based operation in Washington state.
The Crop
Sourcing Style: Local Roasters, Responsibly Sourced
Roaster: Mahalo Coffee Roasters,
Island Roasters,
The Kookaburra Coffee, and
Trilogy Coffee
Copperline brought a piece of Tennessee to the shop by serving up coffee from Knoxville-based Mahalo Coffee Roasters. They have since added a variety of local roasters to the coffee selection, including
Island Roasters from New Smyrna Beach, The Kookaburra from St. Augustine, and Trilogy Coffee from DeLand.
The combination of local roasters means you'll find a wide and ever-changing selection of great coffees available at Copperline.
