Felicitous Coffee originally started serving in Tampa - specifically the University of South Florida (USF) campus - over 10 years ago. Through a series of uncanny coincidences, Paul Venghaus picked up ownership in 2018. Since then, he has worked hard to transform the shop into a unique assembly of coffee, culture, art, and music that is supportive to and synergistic with the local community. Paul's wife - Corrinne - grew up helping out in her family's coffee shop in the mountains surrounding Taipei, Taiwan. She brings her experience and energy to the shop for customers every day. Felicitous Coffee lives up to its name - a pleasing experience for the senses, a harmonious spoke in the wheel of the community, and a business fueled by true passion to do good.

Offering

Felicitous offers up the standard lineup of espresso-based drinks, all made using freshly (and locally) roasted beans from birds of a feather coffee company (more below). You can also pick up a Drip, Pour Over or Cold Brew made up from the same great beans. The menu comes to life in the Specialty Drinks category - choose from some wild and delicious concoctions original to Felicious. The Honey Bear is the most popular: a sweet and refreshing latte made from locally-sourced honey with a dash of cinnamon. If you do order this, be sure to inquire about the bees! Finally, if you're in the mood for a quick bite, Felicitous offers a range of sandwich options for very reasonable prices.

The Centerpiece: Nuova Simonelli Two-Group Appia II

The Appia II pumps out every shot at Felicitous. It's the steady workhorse of the shop. Being volumetric, it allows the baristas to dial in the desired volume for the shot and reproduce it consistently with each pull. This results in a consistent cup delivered to customers every time.

Roaster: birds of a feather coffee company

Feliticous maintains a fantastic partnership with birds of a feather coffee company, a small-batch roaster local to Tampa. birds sources high-grade, specialty coffee from all over the world, finding unique Single Origin beans and carefully experimenting with the roasting process to develop the ideal flavor profiles. Felicitous uses two delicious blends from birds - the Morning Lark City roast (for the lighter side...) and the Night Owl Full City roast (for the darker side...). The roasts perfectly complement the drink selection, and if you can't drink enough in the shop, you can always grab a bag to-go from Felicitous' retail shelf.
