Owner Jessica Glover brings a collective of her life to Jet City Espresso. She spent much of her early life living in the Pacific Northwest surrounded with the growing coffee scene in the region. She's an entrepreneur at heart, and used that passion to open multiple retail stores in the Seattle community. When she moved to Tampa in the early 1990s, Jess saw the potential to bring an espresso bar to the city that would pull together a mix of coffee culture, music, and art. Jet City was born. She opened multiple locations of Jet City Espresso, and set a foundation for the coming wave of craft, specialty coffee that would soon spread throughout the city. Today, operations are focused around Jet City Espresso's walk-up bar co-located inside a historic Hyde Park Bed and Breakfast built in 1908. It remains true to Jess' original vision as a culmination of the arts.

Offering

All of Jet City's coffee drinks are espresso-based. You'll find the range of options from shots to cortados to cappuccinos to lattes. Jess also serves up a range of specialty drink offerings, all made with natural ingredients. For something sweet and unique, check out the Jet City Cafe Borgia - espresso, steamed milk, honey, orange blossom, whipped cream, orange zest and nutmeg. If you're in the mood for a smoothie, Jess has multiple recipes packed with fresh fruit - no sugar added. Feeling hungry? Grab some homemade food snacks. They're tailored perfectly for paleo and gluten-free diets.

The Centerpiece: La Marzocca Three Group Linea PB 3

Jet City Espresso runs on a La Marzocca three group head Linea PB 3. La Marzocca is based in Florence, Italy, and has been producing espresso machines since 1927. The Linea model is a best-seller and has enjoyed over 25 years of production. The machine is known for its reliability in the industry, and serves Jet City's needs as a robust, workhorse espresso machine.

Jet City uses beans from the medium to dark spectrum for all espresso drinks. After spending so much time in the Pacific Northwest, Jess wanted to bring a piece of Seattle to her shop by serving Seattle's Best Coffee. Seattle's Best is a major producer that has been roasting coffee for over 50 years. The company has grown steadiliy over its long history, culminating to an acquisition by Starbucks in 2003. It now operates as an independently-branded subsidiary.
