Bio
Location: 105 W 2nd St Sanford, FL
Established: 2015
Palate and its parent company, Love Missions, were founded with a single goal in-mind - to make a difference in the fight against Human Trafficking. They serve both the local Central Florida community and communities in South
America, specifically Guyana. For owner Carl Kadolph and his wife, the passion for the mission is personal. The decision to start their coffee adventure through Palate was borne from a combination of first-hand experiences
- both in their own family, and in the communities where they have served. Most notably, while flying between two local airports during a trip to Guyana, their aircraft experienced an emergency and was forced to land in a
rural region in the heart of the country. The couple embraced the opportunity to reach out and meet with local residents while stranded. It quickly became apparent that abuse, mostly in the form of trafficking, was devastating
the spirit of this small community. Today, a fully-operational safe house provides shelter for local Guyanese residents victimized by trafficking. It is staffed and funded through your purchases at Palate.
Palate's efforts don't end there. Survivors can fall victim to trafficking multiple times if a solid support structure is not built in and around their lives after the ordeal. Palate has combined forces with Publix and Tire
Kingdom to create job training programs for victims of human trafficking in the local Central Florida community. During rehabilitation, Palate works with individuals to equip them with the skills needed to establish a stable
job and career once they complete their rehabilitation program. They are bridging the critical gap that has historically been overlooked when assimilating trafficking victims back into society. Just another coffee shop? We don't
think so! Palate is doing truly inspiring work.
