Location: 108 S Park Ave, Sanford, FL

Established: 2017

Wavelength Coffee started up three years ago in Orlando as a cold brew specialist. They quickly became a local staple for the brewing style, selling mainly through Eola General in Lake Eola Heights. In late 2019, owners Juan and Jackie opened their brick and mortar location in Sanford. Since then, they have partnered up with their neighbors next door at Rosie Lee Tea Co. to offer both tea and coffee through a single, combined location. A good cold brew demands quality water, quality coffee, and the most important ingredient - time. Wavelength is expressing fantastic, balanced cold brew flavors through these basic ingredients. Be sure to check them out next time you're in Sanford!

Offering

The highlight of the menu continues to be Wavelength's cold brew and nitro cold brew. They have invested significant time and energy into perfecting their cold brew recipe, and the result is a clean, crisp, balanced flavor profile with virtually no acidity or bitterness on the finish. It truly stands out. A hot coffee menu is also available, brewed up through your choice of either an Aeropress or pour-over. Your coffee will be prepared from fresh beans roasted locally by Wavelength (more below). If you're in the mood for a tea instead, you can take your pick from over 80 tea flavor options available in the store. There is also a wide retail selection to check out if you need to stock up on any coffee or tea brewing equipment for home.

The Centerpiece: The Aeropress

You won't find any complex brewing equipment here at Wavelength - not even an espresso machine. They're keeping it simple using manual brewing methods for their coffee selection. Wavelength uses Aeropress preparation in place of espresso for their milk-based drinks. Using this method can draw out unique flavor profiles different from what you may find through a traditional high-pressure extraction through an espresso machine. This makes for a unique cup, prepared totally fresh and by hand. Wavelength also offers a V60 or Chemex option for your pour-over. If tea is your preference, you'll watch it brew on one of the many Hario Largo dripper stands lined up along Wavelength's counter.

Sourcing Style: Direct Trade Partners

Roaster: Wavelength Coffee Co.

Wavelength partners up with local coffee importers to bring in high quality, traceable single origin and blended green coffee beans. The green beans are then roasted by Wavelength locally in Orlando, ensuring the freshest roasts make their way into customers' hands at the shop. Wavelength's contol over the process allows them to fully understand the supply chain leading up to the coffee that ends up in a customer's cup. This approach ensures responsibly sourced products are put forward to the customer on a daily basis.
